A creative writing unit devised by Purnima and co-author Susie May, using visual art as a catalyst for poetry, critical thinking and student voice. Through close observation, interpretation and imaginative response, students transform artworks into original writing and performance.
From climate action to equality and peace, Year 7 and Year 9 students took to the stage to perform original spoken-word poetry inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The showcase celebrated the power of young voices to imagine - and help create - a better world.
Organised by Thai PBS, Bangkok Active Festival invited Bangkokians to imagine, debate and help shape a better future for the city. Purnima joined the festival’s creative voices with her original spoken-word poem Breathe Green, reflecting on Bangkok’s environment, the need for greener spaces and our collective vision for a healthier, more sustainable city.
As part of The Art of Giving for International Women's Day 2026, Purnima facilitated an interactive workshop combining guided journaling, poetry and collage to inspire reflection, creativity and positive change. Participants explored their personal values, aspirations and voices through a series of creative writing and visual arts activities.
To mark International Women's Day 2026, Purnima premiered her original spoken-word poem, The Art of Giving: Give to Gain, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Inspired by the global #GiveToGain theme, the performance explored how intentional acts of generosity can advance gender equality through creativity, advocacy and collective action.

In collaboration with the Australian Alumni Association (Thailand) and AWARE, Purnima contributed to the planning and delivery of The Art of Giving—a public International Women's Day celebration at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, bringing together artists, educators, entrepreneurs and community leaders to champion the power of giving through creativity, advocacy and collaboration.
At the Association of International Educators and Leaders of Color (AIELOC) Conference, Purnima facilitated an interactive workshop exploring spoken word, storytelling and visual art as humanising pedagogies that empower student voice, critical thinking and meaningful action across the curriculum.
