As part of The Art of Giving, presented by the Australian Alumni Association (Thailand) in celebration of International Women’s Day 2026, I had the pleasure of facilitating the workshop “Envisioning Positive Change: Women’s Voices Through Creative Journalling and Collage.”
The workshop invited participants to slow down, reflect and imagine the positive change they hope to create through a series of guided journalling, poetry and collage-making activities. It was inspiring to witness the openness, generosity and thoughtful conversations that emerged as participants shared their reflections and creative responses with one another.
Creativity as Reflection
For the workshop, I designed a creative journal to encourage participants to explore their values, aspirations and personal voice. Poetry was chosen as a powerful reflective tool, offering space to distil complex thoughts and emotions into meaningful words, while collage encouraged participants to connect images, memories and ideas to create new perspectives.
Together, participants explored:
- Guided journal reflections
- An affirmation poem
- A “Vision Poem: Looking Forward”
- An “I Am Like” poem
- Creative collage-making
Planting Seeds for Positive Change
The workshop encouraged participants to reflect on who they are, what they value and how creativity can become a catalyst for personal growth and social impact. By combining writing with visual expression, the session demonstrated how creative practice can deepen self-awareness, strengthen confidence and inspire meaningful action.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated with such enthusiasm and openness. It was a privilege to share this creative experience, and I look forward to seeing how the ideas and artworks continue to develop beyond the workshop.
