Overview

About the book

‘Patana Canvases: Unveiling the Artistic Practices of Our Community’ celebrates the creativity of academic and business staff at Bangkok Patana School, Thailand. This full-colour catalogue documents the inaugural Teachers as Practitioners (TAPs) exhibition, capturing how participants explored artistic practice alongside their professional roles and the transformative impact on personal growth, pedagogy and school culture.

Part of a wider research project led by Purnima Ruanglertbutr, TAPs Researcher and Curator, the book features reflective statements from the artists about their creative journeys and the concepts behind their work. It also includes Ruanglertbutr’s research report, ‘The Power of Creative Practice in Education’, which synthesises survey findings and artist reflections to reveal how art-making fosters well-being, passion-led teaching, cross-disciplinary connections and creative school communities.

Through artworks, case studies and research insights, this catalogue invites educators, leaders and arts advocates to discover the potential of creative practice to inspire dynamic, interconnected learning environments.
