The Sketchbook Project World Tour
Exhibition
Group exhibition at Brooklyn Art Library, New York, April 2012

Overview
About the exhibition
The Sketchbook Project is a constantly evolving library of artists’ sketchbooks from across the globe. The sketchbook is given a barcode with a unique number – this allows the Art House Co-op to keep track of the book and record every time it’s viewed at the Brooklyn Art Library and on tour. The sketchbook is catalogued on the Sketchbook Project website where it can be viewed globally.

Artist's statement
Rationale
As a writer, my process began with a previously written monologue titled ‘Shifting Hues,’ which is the narrative that anchors this artist’s book. I created images that rhythmically danced with the words, transcending the boundaries of text, narrative, and image. Fashioning my character immersed me in her journey – a woman symbolically exploring her identity through the colours of Pink, Red, and Black. Each colour metaphorically represents the woman’s growth from young love, mature love, to a love lost.
