Stories from My Heritage

The Stories from My Heritage series depicts traditional domestic Indian narratives from the point of view of an outsider – the Indian diaspora. Originally created manually in the photography darkroom, each intricate illustration documents fictitious scenes from Indian heritage, symbolically merging fact and fiction. The ethereal quality of lines is achieved by hand-drawing the image onto acetate using fine liners, markers and oil pastels – the acetate is then processed in the darkroom, ultimately producing a cameraless print.
